Hello! I'm Tanya and I run The Cosy Corner House, a small online business selling modern country style inspired homeware, and I also run this blog.
Many years ago I worked in childcare but had to make the very tough decision to leave that behind for health reasons. I was born with a complex heart defect (You can read more about my heart defect on the Me & My Heart page) and as the years go on my symptoms are getting worse so I decided that working for myself from home would give me the flexibility to work around my health needs. I briefly worked with a good friend of mine making handmade invitations, cards and party bags. I loved being able to use my creative side, so when we parted company as a work partnership (we are still good friends) I knew I was ready to take those creative ideas in a different direction. With my love of cosy interiors, pretty fabrics and my slight addiction to tea I set up The Lilac Teacup in 2011, which has more recently become The Cosy Corner House and haven't looked back since!
I take time and care selecting a range of beautiful homeware to bring that cosy, modern country style feeling to a home. My own handmade collection Woof & Wilson is also sold at The Cosy Corner House. My love of nature, tea, cake, and my little family (Fiancé Karl & our Labrador Hooper) inspire my own designs which are created in my little home studio in Buckinghamshire.
On this blog I hope to share a peek behind the scenes of my business and a glimpse in to my life, what it's like to live with a congenital heart defect, and what inspires me.
